– All professionals, artists and calligraphy enthusiasts are free to participate in this competition.
– Competitors are allowed to participate simultaneously in all four domains of the competition.
– Registration at Yase-Yasin site, i.e. www.yaseyasin.com, is mandatory. Registration must be made before the given deadline else the competitor’s work won’t be submitted and he/she would be prevented from participating in the competition.
– After the registration, a special code for each participant will be sent by email. The given code must be written in pencil on the backside of the work. If not, that work will be prohibited from competing on the prize.
– All special, ranked and appreciated succeeding artworks of the winners in all the contest domains would not be returned and would be totally in the possession of ‘Mirase-Yase-Yasin’ institute of art and culture.
– All intellectual and material rights of the elected works will be reserved for the ‘Mirase-Yase-Yasin’ institute of art and culture and this institute is granted the right of using either the original works or their copies.
– Unsuccessful artworks will be delivered exclusively to the participant or a legal representative introduced by him/her (on condition of showing a signed letter containing the passport number of the competitor along with the registration code) at the contest secretariat during the office hours from January.10th-2020 to April.19th-2020.
– After the stated deadline, any remaining artworks will not be returned and the secretariat won’t bear any correlating responsibility. Evidently, the ownership of such works will be given to the institute.
– The contest secretariat won’t take any responsibility regarding any delays in posting or damages caused by shipping.
– Texts and sections that are sought to be calligraphed and enter the competition domains can be received and downloaded from the ‘Yase-Yasin’ site: www.yaseyasin.com.
– The works must be deprived of any gilding and illuminations, fixatives, oiling, polishing or any kind of designs including decorative tables and borders. Furthermore, artworks must not contain any damage or fractures.
– The competing artworks must be signed in spite the fact that the artist’s signature will be hided during the judgement.
– Dictation mistakes and grammatical and declension inaccuracy will certainly exclude the work from the competition.
– Posting the artwork either in a flat or cylindrical and rolled state would be acceptable on the condition of not being folded, bended or fractured.
– All expenses related to the round trip, visa and the settlement of all special and first-to-third-ranked winners in order to participate in the closing and rewarding ceremony will be covered by the contest secretariat.
– The award booklet will be gifted, after its being published, to all winners and appreciated competitors in addition to the members of the awarding committee.
– Participating in this competition means the acceptance of all above conditions.
– The contest secretariat is granted the right of taking decisions regarding any unforeseen cases.
– In scripting brief passages, the competitor is obliged to use a high-quality one-sided handmade starched paper (Ahar paper).
– In the sections of brief calligraphy, the usage of high-quality black ink is required.
*Note: In this competition domain, the usage of high-quality colored ink is also acceptable.
– In the sections of Nasta’liq and Thuluth fonts, the work size must not exceed
120 ˟ 80 cm2.
– In the section of Nasta’liq calligraphy, if a competitor uses the ‘Siyah Mashq’ format (Black Practice Sheet Format), he must also perform the script’s simple calligraphy in his artwork.
– The usage of either one-sided or double-sided handmade starched high-quality paper (Ahar paper) is required in scripting the whole sermon.
– The usage of high-quality black ink in the calligraphy of the whole sermon (in both font sections) is obligatory.
– The calligraphy pen’s size and the diversity in its size along with the dimensions of the calligraphy pages are optional in favor of promoting the artist’s creativity and talent with no boundaries. Yet, the pages’ size, dimensions and color must not vary.
– While using double-sided starched papers when calligraphing the whole sermon, scripting and typography must be designed as shown in the figure below. Despite that, in case of using one-sided starched paper, it is better that the scripted area locates at the center of the page and the space between the lines and the paper borders at the four sides be almost equal.
